Thank you! Now what to do with an equally robust 9-year-old ThinkPad that has W7 Pro. I only need internet once a month to update my work software on that machine, so I think I will go with doing nothing for as long as that works for me.

You solved my dilemma! Upgraded to a gb SSD. Took a while to resolve some driver issues but the OS runs as well as Vista did on the hardware. All the laptop components work.
